Brechnitz and Folley Endorse Gray-Goehler
The following is a written endorsement of Tamara Goehler and Stephen Gray, candidates for Marco Island City Council, from Erik Brechnitz and Greg Folley:
Marco Island is fortunate to have six candidates running. We write in support of two of those candidates in particular, Tamara Goehler and Stephen Gray. Stephen and Tamara are candidates who intend to listen carefully to the wishes of their
residents. That is a refreshing change. Stephen and Tamara are strong fiscal conservatives, and are committed to maintaining the rollback rate for Marco Island taxpayers. The only tax increase they would consider would be a referendum passed convincingly by the voters. This is critical, as Marco Island has maintained one of the lowest tax rates in the State and should continue to do so in the future.
Additionally, both candidates are committed to making Marco Island an easier place to do business, supporting the removal of unnecessary red tape and assuring that our government is responsive to all constituents. At the same time, both understand that growth on our Island needs to be carefully managed so that an onslaught of visitors does not destroy the small town character of our community to which we are committed in our comprehensive plan.
We believe Stephen and Tamara have struck the right balance in their platform between growth and conservation of the small town character which attracted us all to this Island in the first place, and that they will do an outstanding job in serving the citizens of our community. We are proud to endorse their candidacy for City Council, and encourage our fellow citizens to lend them your support as well.
